Mary Borsellino

Mary Borsellino

I write fiction, pop-culture analysis, comics and music journalism, and whatever else comes out of my head. I also read like it's going out of style, make jewellery, go to as many rock shows as I can, watch a lot of horror movies, say tasteless things in public situations, and find every excuse I can to travel.

I'm usually to be found in Melbourne, Australia, where I work as Editor of the journal Australian Philanthropy.

The Devil's Mixtape

The Devil's Mixtape

In 1999, Ella arrived at school with a cache of weapons and a plan to use them. Years later, she sifts through accounts of other violent young women, writing letters to the sister who grew up in the aftermath of that day.
In 1952, Sally was a runaway, hitch-hiking with a strange girl named Amy. The pair navigated a landscape scarred by old memories and tragedies, searching for a place that felt like safety and home.
And in 2011, Charlotte was a music journalist on tour with a band, listening to their stories of loss and hope as she tried to shape the world into a narrative that made sense.
Demons, heartbreaks and the redemptive power of art, all thrown together. The result could never be anything but the Devil's mixtape.
