About Mary

Mary Borsellino (any pronouns are fine) has been interested in writing and media since they were twelve years old and read The Day of the Triffids by John Wyndham and went “I want to do that!”

They are currently studying for a masters in Writing and Literature from Deakin University, and it was through one of the assignments for this qualification that Mary was first inspired to write Incandescent Girl.

Their day jobs are as a translation editor, project manager, and social media coordinator/marketer for a company which publishes Japanese video games in English, and as a romance novelist under pseudonyms.

They like writing romance a lot, but in their heart of hearts they’re always thinking of that twelve year old they once were, which is why Incandescent Girl and the majority of other titles published under their own name are YA.

Mary is passionate about YA, as they feel the intense emotions of adolescence make for the best bedrock for engaging fiction, and that YA and romance audiences are the two groups of readers who are truly voracious when it comes to books.

Mary’s hobbies are going to concerts, reading, video games, and spending way too much time on social media. They grew up in Brisbane, Queensland, and now live in Melbourne, Victoria, with one child and an elderly dog.
